The 2026 RBT® exam covers six content areas from the BACB®’s RBT Test Content Outline (3rd ed.): Data Collection and Graphing (13 questions), Behavior Assessment (8), Behavior Acquisition (19), Behavior Reduction (14), Documentation and Reporting (10), and Ethics (11). Our RBT study guide explains every task in plain language.
The RBT® exam has 85 multiple-choice questions: 75 scored questions and 10 unscored pilot questions mixed in among them. You have 90 minutes to finish, and the exam is taken in person at a Pearson VUE test center.
Study all six content areas, and give the most time to Behavior Acquisition and Behavior Reduction, which together make up about 44% of the exam. Take timed practice tests, read the explanation for every question you miss, and build speed with daily SAFMEDS timings. The BACB® sets the passing standard, so check the official RBT® Handbook for current scoring details.
They are written in the same style as the real exam: multiple-choice, scenario-based questions, each mapped to a task in the official test content outline. They are not actual exam questions, because real BACB® exam content is confidential. Use them to build understanding, not to memorize answers.
Every question is written by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBA®) and mapped to a specific task in the RBT® Test Content Outline (3rd ed.), with a clear explanation for each answer.
